ABOUT
Colored pencil art and teacher, Janie Gildow's career as an artist began when she was in the seventh grade and realized she could “draw it the way it looked.” After receiving a degree from the Ohio State University in Art Education, she began her teaching career. Several years later, she received the prestigious Martha Holden Jennings Award for excellence in teaching.
In 1991, she became a professional colored pencil artist. Since that time, Janie has become internationally known for her work and awards.
Janie filmed two colored pencil art instruction workshops with Creative Catalyst:

I have purchased and enjoyed the teachings of Janie Gildow for a long time. I love the way she teaches, so direct and clear. It has helped me overcome my reluctance to draw with colored pencils which I now enjoy immensly.
