
Sherrill Kahn has been creating award-winning drawings, paintings and fiber art work for almost forty years. Her work can be found in many private collections throughout the world. She loves to weave, quilt, airbrush, bead, sew, knit, crochet, draw, paint and create with rubber stamps. In addition, Sherrill makes creative books, innovative jewelry and dolls, she paints and decorates every surface imaginable, and she constantly explores new materials and new techniques. She lives by four simple words "Have Fun" and "What If?"
If you join Sherrill in the workshop, you will have fun! Sherrill taught for thirty years in the Los Angeles Public Schools, twenty-seven of which were at Palisades High School. She has also taught for University Extension programs and given lectures along with demonstrations to numerous art groups and organizations.
Since leaving the public schools, Kahn now teaches across the country and loves to share the sheer joy of the creative process with her students. She packs her classes with as much information as possible, taking "what if" to new heights. She is available for workshops just about anywhere!
Sherrill Kahn has been published in magazines and books related to fiber arts and rubber-stamping. Her new book, Creating With Paint – New Ways, New Materials, is now available.
Sherrill Kahn lives in Southern California with Joel, her husband of almost 33 years. They do everything together and he is her greatest friend and supporter. They love to travel and have been in almost every state and many foreign countries throughout the world.
After retiring from teaching in the public schools, they started a rubber stamp company five years ago called Impress Me Now. Their designs focus on ethnic cultures and Southwest art. It continues to grow each year!
Artist's Statement "I was a Fine Arts teacher for the Los Angeles City Schools for thirty years, with focus on Drawing Painting, and Design. I have taught for a variety of Quilt Guilds, Fabric, Rubber Stamp, Bead and Crafts stores. Along with my husband Joel, I have started a rubber stamp company called ‘Impress Me’ and I share our stamps in all of the classes I teach. The stamps are quite versatile and students love using them in class. I have been published in magazines and books relating to fiber arts and rubber stamping. I love to teach and find that it is the main focus of my professional life. I would love to teach for you and can adapt my class focus to your particular needs." - Sherrill
Kahn does a wide variety of art including fiberart, clay art, rubber stamping and more. Jacquard collaborated with Sherrill to come up with her own set of colors, Sherrill's Sorbets, a beautiful set of opaque pastel colors. Sherrill also has her own extensive line of rubber stamps available on her website. She is also the author of 2 books, Creating with Paint and Creative Stamping.
