
Sean Dye is an innovative painter who works with watermedia and water-soluble oils, combining charcoal, India ink, acrylic gouache. He is best known for his mixed media approach and media combinations. Sean Dye graduated from the University of Vermont and received an M.F.A. from Pratt Institute. He teaches painting at the University of Vermont and conducts workshops throughout North America on pastel, oil painting, and mixed media. His award winning artwork can be found in private and corporate collections, and has been selected for numerous juried and invitational exhibitions.
Sean Dye’s paintings have also appeared in The Artist’s Magazine and been featured in Pastel Artist International Magazine. Sean is a member of the Oil Pastel Association, The United Pastelists of America and founded the Vermont Pastel Society.
He lives in St. George, Vermont with his wife Sally and their three children. Sean is the author of Painting with Water-Soluble Oils and The Mixed Media Sourcebook, Techniques for Successfully Combining Painting and Drawing Mediums.
