
Lettering artist Lisa Engelbrecht teaches workshops and classes around the country specializing in lettering on fabric and alternative surfaces, experimental lettering and the creative process. Engelbrecht was an instructor of calligraphy at Cerritos College in Norwalk, California where she instituted a Certificate in Calligraphy. (This program was originated by her mentors and teachers, Larry and Marsha Brady in 1975.)
Lisa Engelbrecht has been a member of the faculty of seven international lettering conferences and was an instructor at the Art and Soul, Artfest and Art Unraveled collage conferences. She was the keynote speaker at the Oregon Book Arts “Focus” Conference in June, 2005. Engelbrecht was a featured lecturer on her sidewalk chalk art pieces at the Discoveries conference. Engelbrecht was a teacher at the 2006 International Quilt Show in Houston, Texas and will return in 2007. Engelbrecht's work has been included in Letter Arts Review, the Calligrapher's Engagement Calendar, Legacy Magazine and Somerset Studios Magazine. Lisa was named one of the Women of Somerset in the Spring 2002 issue. The Fall 2003 issue of Legacy Magazine features a cover article of her memory pieces on fabric. Her work is featured in the “Quilted Memories” by Leslie Riley, “Artist's Journals and Sketchbooks” and ”Beyond Paper Dolls” — by Lynne Perella and Annie Cicale's book, “The Art and Craft of Hand Lettering.”
