A recent update from Janie on the pencils she uses: The name has been changed to Prismacolor Premiere"soft core" colored pencils--available in 132 colors. They're made by Sanford now (instead of Berol) but they're the same colors with the same numbers.

Many thanks for the Janie Gildow DVDs recieved five days after ordering them from the UK.Very good service. The DVD's were wonderful. She has an excellent way of explaining her technique and it makes you feel as if you are there looking over her shoulder. Does she do portraits?
I would be first in the queue for a DVD on portraits in coloured pencil by her or an artist who specialises in portraits. Any chance of this?

Janie Gildow is a wonderful artist and instructor. What I liked most was the way she thinks out loud so that you can hear and understand her choices as an artist. I have viewed the DVD several times because of the inspiration alone!
