If you want to learn how to paint oil, why not start with a little inspiration from Caroline Jasper. Her instructional art DVD, Color Moves: Painting Water with Oil, is one of the best when it comes to understanding the power of your color choices. You can see her wonderful oil painting techniques in her most recent piece "Cache." Looking at it, I'm not sure whether she used red or orange as her ground, but either way it has the vibrancy of a signature Jasper piece.
Check out more of Caroline's work in the up coming November issue of American Art Collector magazine. You can also find Caroline's work in the June 2012 and September 2012 issues as well.

The production of my DVD "Color Moves - Painting Water with Oils" was a most rewarding experience. It's impossible to cover in an actual workshop all that can be included on DVD. During in-person workshops I am dedicated to instruction over demonstration. One-on-one attention to individuals is my priority there. I'll do some painting demonstrations, but never do I get to create a full start-to-finish painting as I did for the DVD. I got to do both in the DVD - create a painting and deliver all of the relevant instruction with supplemental visuals as well. Hours upon hours went into taping the DVD. Adhering to high quality standards, expert editing at Creative Catalyst whittled it down to just over two hours for the published product. I am extremely proud of the results. Caroline Jasper
